Our safety meetups include videos, discussion, case studies and learning from our fellow pilots, and qualify for FAA Wings Credit.  

Pilot deviations and confusion over departures exist. 

  • We will discuss  factors that contribute to the these deviations.
  • We will discuss local departure procedures and how to select them.
  • We will discuss the common distractions during a flight lesson, flying for pleasure or business.
  • We will look at several of the Pilot Deviations in detail to show how they could have been avoided,
  • Wings Credit available

The East Central Ohio Pilots Association is one of the most established pilot groups in the nation serving our regional aviation community.  Organized in 1962, the purpose of the Association is to promote General Aviation and voice an opinion on Government Legislation, Rules and Regulations that affect General Aviation.  An active history includes coordinating educational events, hosting social activities, civic involvement, and providing flight scholarship funding.  The Organization also provides Social and Recreational Activities for Members and Friends.  Membership is comprised of both active and retired, private and commercial pilots, and others involved in aviation.

Our associated entity, the ECOPA Education & Safety Foundation, is recognized as a 501 c3 not for profit corporation.

Kent State University College of Aeronautics graciously supports these safety meetups. Fly ins welcome.

If you wish to receive WINGS credit for attending this seminar please register for this seminar at this site. When you register for the seminar, you insure that credit is correctly applied to you. When you attend the program, an attendance sheet will be circulated. Make sure you initial it next to your name. You may also obtain credit by adding your name and email address to the attendance sheet at the seminar, but if you do this, please make sure that the email address you use is registered on http://www.faasafety.gov/ You must have an email address to receive credit.
